Dear Friends,
it is with pleasure and pride that I announce the 15th World Congress of Gynecological Endocrinology, that will be held in Florence (Italy) on 7-10 March 2012.
The World Congress is the main reunion of the members and friends of the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology, and through the years it has dynamically changed and evolved to an event of unrivalled scientific relevance. The World Congress of Gynecological Endocrinology will offer an unprecedented number of chances of scientific and professional advancement for the participants. The traditional International Faculty will be embodied by the top leaders in the area of Gynecological and Reproductive Endocrinology and will provide that unique flair of science-and practice that is the best trademark of this Congress.
We are all aware that our field advances at a speed that is more and more difficult to follow. Internet and the scientific publications provide us with a mass of notions that is difficult to be put in perspective. One of the main missions of the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology has been since a years to provide effective tools to filter and interpret this growing science, so that clinicians can make the best possible use of advancing science to improve the care of their patients. Our efforts into this direction are visible. We have succeeded in the 14th congress to increase the scientific impact of the congress, that nearly doubled the number of abstracts submitted compared to the previous meeting.
We have helped brilliant and young scientists from all over the World to join us in Florence with a competition where the best 100 abstract presenters have been granted free registration and hospitality. We have diffused the scientific contents of the Congress with a unique and effective Congress-online service, where everyone can access and listen nearly in real-time to presentations held in Florence, helping our opinion leaders to outreach the farthest areas of the World to make an impact that was not imaginable a few years ago. Plus, we have developed an effective and friendly e-mail bulletin, the GynEndo News, that every month brings some of our Society and of our Congresses into our mailboxes.
But we thought that this was not enough.
Starting from the 14th Congress in Florence, a new creature was born, the International School of Gynecological and Reproductive Endocrinology. The School is a branch of our Society formally devoted to develop education and to help clinicians to learn and practice the art of gynecological endocrinology. The first International Course was held in Florence, and after this success a number of itinerant courses will be organized to bring education by the best available source to everyone in the World.
Our Society is thus lively and vibrant, and we hope that the number of the family members will continue to grow. The advancement of science and practice is our final goal, and your contribution is the key to this mission. Come and join the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology in Florence!
Come and shape the future of our discipline with us!
